Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services)

£40,000 - £45,000 + Company Bonus + Progression to head of department

In this hands-on design role, you'll create detailed mechanical drawings, carry out engineering calculations, and help deliver fully coordinated building services designs. You'll work closely with clients, contractors, and other team members, attend project meetings, and support the delivery of installation-ready designs. Using tools like AutoCAD and Revit, you'll help ensure projects meet all technical standards, stay compliant, and run smoothly from start to finish.

THE ROLE

  • Produce detailed mechanical drawings using AutoCAD (Revit experience is a bonus).
  • Carry out key engineering calculations (e.g. heat loss, pipework, duct sizing)
  • Prepare equipment schedules to meet project specs and standards
  • Ensure designs comply with building regulations and technical requirements
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

THE PERSON

  • Building Service related degree or HNC
  • Mechanical Design Engineer (building services) or similar
  • Experience with AutoCAD
