We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to support new product developments and special projects in collaboration with Laboratory and Industrialisation teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your expertise of Mechanical Engineering within the Electrical Engineering sector and contribute to innovative solutions.

Design Engineer Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of Engineering projects, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives.
  • Apply DFx principles (Cost, Manufacture, Assembly, Test) to enhance product development.
  • Oversee internal and external testing with the Laboratories team.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve product issues and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including design files and Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise product quality and cost efficiency.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar).
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software
  • Experience in Mechanical product design and strong understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Technical expertise in material strengths and engineering processes to facilitate effective design for manufacturing.
  • Confident user of PDM / PLM tools and understanding of BOM and change control.
  • Familiarity with relevant IEC standards
  • UK rights to work (sponsorship cannot be provided).
