Machine Operator 

Location: ThatchamStarting Salary: £34,200Shift Pattern: Rotational 3 shifts (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am) including holiday cover

Overview:An upcoming vacancy exists for a Machine Operator to join our in Thatcham. This position is ideal for an ambitious individual looking to develop their career in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. The successful candidate will receive full training for the role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team members to produce high-quality corrugated packaging according to customer order specifications.
  • Comply with Health and Safety at Work regulations, ensuring personal safety and the safety of other team members.
  • Contribute to site profitability by minimizing waste and machine downtime.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards within the plant to boost productivity and reduce accidents.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects as part of ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate with Shift Supervisors and the Conversion Manager as needed.
  • Meet on-time delivery targets.
  • Engage in continuous self-development through job training programs and other company learning opportunities.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience and willingness to work a flexible shift pattern, including three shifts.
  • Proven ability to solve complex technical problems.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing techniques and terminology (e.g., SMED, 5S).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, target-driven, high-tech environment.
