Bridge Inspector

An opportunity has arisen for a Bridges/Structures Inspector to join a client in Berkshire. Your main duties include undertaking Highway structures inspections across the area to the Bridge Condition Indicator (BCI) system of Inspections. The inspections are predominantly "general" although some "principal" type inspections may be necessary.

 
This is a full-time contract position. The rate on offer is £35 - £40 per hour + expenses. Flexible working arrangements are available and the rate is dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities
·Perform detailed inspections of bridges and other structures based on national and local guidelines.
·Document and report findings, including assessing the severity of defects and recommending remedial actions.
·Develop and maintain inspection schedules to ensure all structures are inspected within required intervals.
·Ensure all inspections comply with safety regulations and quality assurance protocols.
·Liaise with engineering teams to provide insights and recommendations based on inspection outcomes.
·Provide mentorship and guidance to junior inspectors and other team members.
·Utilise advanced inspection tools and techniques to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of inspections.


Job Requirements
·Significant experience in bridge inspection or a related field.
·Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and safety standards.
·Proficiency in using inspection tools and software.
·Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear and effective reporting.
·Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to detect and assess structural issues.
·Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
·Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with industry advancements.
