R&D Scientist (Analytical) - Biopharma - Contract (12 months) - South East, UK
Our client is a global leading biopharmaceutical organisation. At present they are seeking an R&D Scientist on a contract basis for 12 months.
The role requires theoretical knowledge of analytical techniques typically used in protein analysis and ability to perform a wide range of analytical methods based on HPLC (e.g size exclusion), electrophoresis (e.g CE SDS, icIEF). Experience with LC-MS/MS methods for Proteomics and/or Metabolomics or Lipidomics would be an advantage
Candidates must have an outstanding attitude to learn and team collaboration skills are essential
The position is laboratory-based and the candidate will be working in a matrix organizational structure supporting multiple projects
Role responsibilities:
Performing experimental work independently, analysing data and reporting results to senior team member in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
Plan and complete assigned tasks within the required timeframe.
Liaise with other scientists and project leads to close out technical review of assays.
Interpret data against specifications and identify trends within data.
Communicate progress and escalate challenges to Line Manager and/or Scientific or Project Lead as appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned
Activities:
Planning experiments/work and writing electronic lab notebook (10%)
Analytical development or sample analysis (70%)
Lab Maintenance /Stock taking/ordering (15%)
