Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Thatcham - Newbury

Salary: £50,000 per annum

Shifts: Panama (2 on 3 off, 3 on 2 off), rotating Days & Nights (12-hour shifts)

We're currently recruiting experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineers to join a fast-growing, highly reputable manufacturing business in the Thatcham - Newbury area. If you've worked in FMCG or a fast-paced manufacturing environment, this is a great opportunity to build your career with a company that offers genuine progression and long-term stability.

You'll be part of a supportive, hands-on team that values quality maintenance, continuous improvement, and keeping production running efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Performing planned and preventative maintenance on machinery and mechanical systems

  • Diagnosing and repairing faults on conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, and related components

  • Supporting breakdown response and root cause analysis to minimise downtime

  • Working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical awareness where required

  • Collaborating with a proactive, team-focused maintenance department

What We're Looking For:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or similar mechanical qualification)

  • Proven hands-on experience in a manufacturing or FMCG setting

  • Solid mechanical fault-finding and repair skills

  • Experience working on gearboxes, belts, bearings, valves, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems

  • A motivated, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt
