Solar Electrician – Overview

Low Carbon Recruitment Ltd are currently working with one of UK’s largest renewable energy companies who are looking for a permanent Electrician’s to carry out Solar PV installations in the local area. The company have been established for over 15 years, specializing in the installation of renewable energy systems in domestic and light commercial properties, they are currently experiencing a consistent period of growth having doubled in turnover in the past 4 years.

Within the role, you will work in a two man team alongside a Roofer/Panel Installer, installing Solar PV systems on private domestic properties within the PE, NR and IP post code areas. You will work as a team to complete installations, with the roofer installing and fixing the panels and running the cables through, which the electrician will then wire up and commission the system. Most systems range between 6-12 panels and some jobs will have a battery storage system in addition.

The company have been installing PV systems for over 10 years and have 30+ crews working nationwide. They aim to make each install as simple as possible for their Engineers. All sites are technically surveyed prior to the installation starting, all scaffolding and required infrastructure will be set up prior to the teams arrival, and all materials are delivered to site with some surplus to keep as spares/ van stock.

You will operate throughout the PE, NR and IP post code areas with all travel time paid. The role is mobile with a company van and fuel card provided and therefore it is essential that you have a full UK driving licence.

Solar Electrician – Requirements

• 2+ years experience on Solar PV Installation
• 18th Edition (Essential)
• NVQ Level 3 Electrical
• 2391 Test & Inspection (Desired)
• 2372 or 2399 qualification (Desired)
• Full UK Driving Licence

• Salary of £40,000
