Stores Person – Engineering | On-Site | Full-TimeLocation: WattonOur client, a well-established engineering business, is currently seeking a reliable and detail-focused Stores Person to join their busy team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, has a strong eye for detail, and is keen to develop within a supportive and dynamic environment.The Role:Working within a fast-paced workshop, you’ll play a key role in the inspection, tracking, storage and preparation of mechanical and electrical components. The role also involves general administration, stock control, and occasional driving duties (including use of a forklift – training provided).Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Receiving and inspecting incoming goods
  • Carrying out quality and compliance checks using measuring tools
  • Preparing and masking goods ready for paint and dispatch
  • Stock control, issuing goods, and assisting with stock checks
  • Updating purchase order receipt status using internal systems
  • Supporting with workshop housekeeping and general admin tasks
  • Providing cover for the Stores Supervisor when required
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • A methodical and organised approach to work
  • A good level of computer literacy
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A keen eye for detail and commitment to quality
  • Willingness to learn and take on new tasks
Desirable Experience (Not Essential):
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings
  • Use of standard measuring tools (e.g. tape measures, calipers)
  • Experience within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or similar environments
  • Knowledge of inspection standards such as ATEX, PD5500, ASME or PED
