We are working exclusively with a client that is seeking a qualified Legal Counsel to join their central Legal team, focusing primarily on the Construction sector. This role is crucial for supporting the senior Legal team members by providing expert legal advice and negotiating commercial contracts. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence significant business decisions and contribute to our strategic goals.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts and agreements, particularly focusing on construction and engineering sectors.
  • Provide accurate, relevant, and timely legal advice to internal stakeholders on a variety of legal topics related to the operation of the business.
  • Promote legal, compliance, and risk management best practices throughout the organisation.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in law and legislation that affect the business and our services.
  • Support the organisation's sustainability plans and policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified solicitor with a current practicing certificate allowing practice in England and Wales.
  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Familiarity with construction and engineering contracts such as JCT and NEC.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex legal issues in simple terms.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Proven ability to navigate, negotiate, and advise on complex commercial contracts.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong commitment to legal compliance.
