Bench Joiner

Opportunity for a semi skilled Bench Joiner to work mainly in the laminating & veneering department for a high end joinery manufacturer in the Thirsk area. We are very interested to hear from candidates with previous wood working experience. You will be responsible for producing high quality, bespoke products in a workshop environment.

The role:

  • Working with hardwoods to produce furniture components
  • Working with a variety of materials including wood, laminates & veneers
  • Operating machines such as straight & profile edgebanders, a hot press, edge sanders, mitre saw, hand routers & orbital sanders to make items bespoke to customer requirements
  • Producing one-off and small batch products
  • Work to high quality standards
  • Work to production targets
  • Work in line with health and safety standards

The person:

  • Will have confident experience of woodworking or manufacturing, training will be given on company standards and processes
  • Ideally have previous experience operating a CNC router
  • Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Be reliable with a good record of attendance and time keeping
  • Be professional, hard working and conscientious
  • Ability to read and work to drawings
  • Proven background in producing high quality components
