The main duties will be:
- Outsourcing engineering services.
- Ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods.
- Maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Analysing market trends to determine the most competitive prices.
- Liaising with suppliers and negotiate contracts while maintaining good relationships to secure favourable pricing and
- Negotiating with suppliers to secure better prices and terms.
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies.
- Managing inventory levels and ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Coordinating with other departments to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Updating and maintaining purchasing records and data.
- Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and regulations.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- Experience working within the commercial engineering sector
- A good understanding of Purchasing
- Reading and understanding engineering drawings
- Strong excel skills
- Buying and negotiating skills
- Previous experience of an ERP/MRP would be advantageous
- Strong purchasing / buying experience, preferably with an engineering background
