What You'll Do:
As a Finance Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health of projects within the construction business stream. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring, reviewing, analysing, and controlling all costs for ongoing projects.
  • Daily collation and oversight of project-related costs, including labour, sub-contractors, plant, and materials.
  • Keeping a close eye on commitments, including Goods Receipt Notes and orders.
  • Assisting in the analysis and reporting on cost codes, trends, and allocations.
  • Inputting purchase invoices into the accounting system, COINS.
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery tickets to ensure accuracy.
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers to resolve any queries efficiently.
  • Working alongside the procurement team to address order queries.
  • Preparing monthly payment runs with attention to detail.
  • Assisting the project accountant with ad hoc projects and providing cover during their annual leave.

What We're Looking For:
We seek someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and possesses excellent organisational skills. You should have:

  • A solid understanding of finance and accounting principles.
  • Experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within a project-based environment.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software (experience with COINS is a desirable).
  • Strong analytical skills to identify trends and insights.
  • Excellent communication skills to build rapport with suppliers and team members.
