Team Leader Role

24-7 Employment Services are recruiting for an experienced Production Team Leader to join a busy packing facility in Paddock Wood. This role offers a great opportunity to lead a team, ensure smooth production flow and maintain high standards of safety and quality.

Purpose of the Job

Help your packing line run smoothly and meet targets. Support your team to work safely, pack to a high standard, and finish the job on time. Lead by example and keep problems small by acting early.

Operations & Production Manager

Packing Operatives (the team members working on the line)

Your Main Responsibilities

1. Keep the Workplace Safe and Clean

  • Make sure your team follows all safety rules.
  • Check that your work area is tidy, secure and hygienic.
  • Report anything dangerous or broken straight away.

2. Lead and Support Your Team

  • Give clear instructions and guide new team members.
  • Keep the team focused and motivated.
  • Set the tone with a positive respectful attitude.

3. Follow Company Values

  • Be honest, helpful, and dependable.
  • Encourage teamwork and clear communication.
  • Represent the company in a professional and proud way.

4. Check and Maintain Product Quality

  • Make sure every product is packed correctly, labels, seals, counts, no damage.
  • Don’t let poor quality go out.
  • Work with the Quality Team if there's a problem.

5. Complete All Paperwork Properly

  • Fill in records like traceability, timesheets and job reports.
  • Make sure everything is accurate and done on time.
  • Keep paperwork safe and report anything missing.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

As a Team Leader, you're expected to:

  • Achieve performance targets - Help the team hit packing speed and efficiency goals.
  • Keep a zero-rejection rate - Make sure no finished product is returned or rejected due to poor quality.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and hygienic environment - Spot and fix issues before they become problems.
  • Be a role model (ambassador) for the business - Show pride in your work and help others do the same.
  • Complete all records accurately - No missing or incorrect paperwork.
