Maintenance Fitter - Night Shift - Toome


Our client is an industry leader in waste management, recycling and environmental solutions.

We are recruiting a Maintenance Fitter who will work on night shift, carrying out preventative maintenance on plant, recycling and processing equipment.

Monday to Thursday 10 hour shifts

With night shift allowance salary in 42 - 43k range

The Role

  • Promote and uphold a "Safety First" culture across the site
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, as well as company policies and regulations.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of machinery, plant, and equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues promptly.
  • Carry out the installation of machinery, plant, and equipment as needed.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to prepare and implement a planned maintenance schedule.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance requirements efficiently to minimise downtime and costs.
  • Immediately report issues or defects with machinery and take appropriate action.
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects and actively contribute to team meetings.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, report on KPIs, and analyse variances to drive continuous improvement.
  • Assist with operator training for machinery and equipment when required.

What we are looking for

  • Apprentice qualified in a relevant trades such as Mechanical, Engineering, Fitting
  • Industrial experience as a Maintenance Fitter/ Engineer
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems on machinery
  • Can read and understand technical drawings
  • Can work alone or in a team
  • Committed to safety and compliance within industrial settings
