We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Van Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role is essential in maintaining our commitment to excellent service and operational efficiency.

You will be manually handling heavy building materials so you need a good level of fitness.

You need to have a year of van driving experience and be over 21 for insurance purposes.

Maximum of 6 penalty points.

You need to get to the site so transport an advantage.

This is a temp to perm role for the right person.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a van to deliver goods to various locations, ensuring timely and safe arrival.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order.
  • Load and unload items from the flatbed vehicle, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery notes and any discrepancies.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
  • Adhere to all traffic regulations and company policies while driving.
  • Provide excellent customer service by being courteous and professional during interactions with clients.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Van Driver or Delivery Driver, with a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience with flatbed vehicles is an advantage but not essential.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage delivery schedules efficiently.
  • Capability to work independently as well as part of a team in a warehouse environment.
  • A valid driver's licence appropriate for the vehicle class required for the job.
