We are supporting a school near Towcester who are dedicated to supporting children and young people aged 4-18 with ASD, SLCN and severe learning difficulties with seeking a supportive and caring teaching assistant. This role is to start as soon as possible and part time applicants can be considered depending on the candidate.

The school are looking for somebody who is committed to supporting theirpupils to communicate in a range of different way and has the ability to relate to and engage with a wide range of pupils. Experience of working with children or adults with Special Educational Needs would be advantageous to this position.

In your role, you will be playing a key role in creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive setting where pupils can thrive. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored support to pupils with autism, SLCN and SLD across a range of ages and abilities.

  • Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver individualised programmes and interventions.

  • Supporting communication development using strategies such as visuals, PECS, AAC, Makaton or other communication tools.

  • Helping pupils with emotional regulation, sensory needs and independence skills.

  • Contributing to personalised plans and tracking progress.

  • Promoting positive relationships and safeguarding pupil wellbeing at all times.
