Matchtech is proud to be working with a prestigious Formula 1 team, embarking on an exciting new era of innovation and competition. With a team of over 700 passionate individuals, they are determined to push the limits at the sharp end of the grid. As part of their growth, they are seeking a Aero Surfacer to join their Aerodynamics team.
Role Overview: As aSurfacer, you will be integral in shaping the aerodynamic performance of their race cars. Your expertise in CATIA, specifically surfacing, will be crucial in delivering advanced designs that enhance flow field dynamics and drive competitive performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Aerodynamicists, Design Engineers, and Operational Teams to deliver geometry for CFD, Wind Tunnel, and Track testing.
- Construct complex CAD concept surfaces using CATIA.
- Lead continuous improvement in aerodynamic design processes.
- Mentor and coach team members in surface design techniques to elevate the team's capabilities.
What We're Looking For:
- CATIA Expertise: Advanced proficiency in CATIA V5/V6/3DX, with a focus on surfacing.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to precision in surface modelling.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Creative Problem Solver: Strong problem-solving skills to optimize aerodynamic shapes.
- Adaptable: A willingness to challenge conventional thinking and embrace innovative approaches.
- Formula 1 Knowledge: Understanding of F1 bodywork regulations.
- Passion for Motorsport: A strong drive and passion for racing.
Desirable Skills:
- A good understanding of aerodynamic principles and a minimum of 3 years within F1.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in high-level motorsport or aerospace environments.
- A portfolio demonstrating advanced CATIA surfacing skills.
