WasteRecruit has been retained by a regional resource management company to support the recruitment of a passionate and driven Head of Sales & Training to lead, inspire, and grow the sales and customer-facing teams. This high-impact role is key to achieving our ambitious growth targets and ensuring our people have the tools and support to deliver exceptional results.
As Head of Sales & Training, you will manage Customer Service, Account Management, and Field Sales teams, while also directly handling a portfolio of national accounts. You’ll combine strategic vision with hands-on leadership to improve performance, develop talent, and build strong customer relationships across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
•   Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to grow company revenue
•   Lead and support tender and contract proposal processes
•   Build new business through networking and stakeholder engagement
•   Manage key performance metrics across ticket and phone systems
•   Personally own and grow national account sales
•   Conduct regular client visits and introductions with new accounts
•   Motivate, coach, and train the sales team through workshops and 1:1s
•   Identify training needs and implement ongoing development plans
•   Drive team efficiency to maximise revenue and output
•   Collaborate across departments to ensure top-tier customer service
•   Report regularly on pipeline and sales performance
•   Monitor market trends and competitor activity to stay ahead
•   Improve customer experience in partnership with the supplier manager
