My client is seeking a new delivery driver to join its team, working Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00. As a delivery driver part of a team of two, you will play a critical role in the customer journey, with opportunities to interact with customers and build relationships every day. Your role is more than just driving; it involves delivering exceptional service with a smile and is hands-on, physical, and diverse; one day you will be delivering to Manchester, and the next to Cornwall! You are an essential part of our customers' experience, delivering and installing tables and other furniture with precision, ensuring that you treat the furniture and their homes with the utmost care.

You will be responsible for delivering the final part of our customer journey by:

  • Carefully loading the van with customer orders.
  • Checking the van for roadworthiness and reporting any issues.
  • Keeping the van clean and organised and ensuring it is stocked with bolts, felt pads, straps, and blankets.
  • Treating products and deliveries as if they were your own.
  • Delivering promptly within the customer's time slot.
  • Calling the customer before arriving at their property if you are going to be early or late.
  • Instructing customers on how to care for their furniture.
  • Reporting any issues to the office team.
  • Assisting with general jobs around the yard if not delivering, such as clearing cardboard and some light workshop duties.
  • Working overtime when required, generally only on weekdays

You will need:

  • Great time management & honesty
  • The ability to build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit, working together to ensure the best possible customer experience.
  • A warm and welcoming attitude towards customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and with your driver
  • High energy and drive to deliver beyond expectations.
  • Willingness to share ideas with your manager and other colleagues on how to improve the customer experience.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift tables/furniture.
  • A valid UK/EU/EEA Driving license (full) for at least 12 months, clean with no points and preferably with experience driving a van.
  • Your own car to commute to work as we are rural and not served by public transport.
  • The flexibility to work beyond the core hours needed due to traffic or long distance deliveries (overtime is paid)

Qualifications
