The RoleAs a Classroom Support Assistant, you will:

Provide consistent support to pupils with a wide range of learning needs, including ASD, SLD, PMLD, and communication difficulties.

Assist with personal care, moving and handling, and the use of hoists where needed.

Support pupils on a 1:1 basis as well as in small groups, helping them access learning.

Respond calmly and flexibly to changes in behaviour, routine, or emotional regulation needs.

Build safe, trusting relationships that encourage confidence, independence, and engagement.

RequirementsTo be considered for this Classroom Support Assistant role, you should:

Be flexible, patient, and nurturing.

Have experience supporting children or young people (preferable but not essential).
-
Have your own transport (highly desirable due to the school’s location).

Be confident with both 1:1 and small-group support.
-
Have competent behaviour management skills or willingness to learn.

Be familiar with a range of needs such as ASD, SLD, PMLD (beneficial).

Ideally have moving and handling training or previous experience.
-
Be willing to support with personal care.
-
Be open to completing further CPD training.

Preferably hold a DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
£88.92-£91.00 per day, depending on experience, training, and qualifications.
