Are you an experienced Payroll Manager ready to take full ownership of payroll operations? Our client, a respected healthcare provider, is seeking a dedicated and detail-driven Payroll Manager to join their team on a sole-charge basis.

?? About the Role:

As the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of the in-house payroll for approximately 250 employees. You'll ensure the smooth, accurate, and timely execution of monthly payroll, including statutory deductions, reporting, and compliance.

This is a hands-on role that also offers the opportunity to support occasional HR tasks, including employee onboarding, benefits administration, and maintaining HR records.

?? Key Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of in-house monthly payroll processing
  • Calculating salaries, deductions, pensions, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc.)
  • HMRC submissions and compliance with UK payroll legislation
  • Producing reports for finance and management teams
  • Supporting HR with administrative tasks, onboarding, and employee queries
  • Maintaining employee data and ensuring confidentiality

? What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience managing payroll independently (preferably in-house)
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements
  • Experience with payroll software (e.g., IRIS Cascade, Sage, ADP, or similar)
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Friendly and professional communication style
  • Exposure to HR processes is desirable
