Graduate Commercial Manager / Quantity Surveyor
Location: Tutbury Sales Office (with occasional site visits)
Salary: 26,000 - 28,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate or aspiring Commercial Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team based in Tutbury. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in commercial management, cost estimation, and contract administration within a dynamic and supportive environment.
About the Role
You will work closely with the Commercial Director and other key stakeholders to support the successful delivery of projects from tender through to final account. The role will involve a variety of responsibilities across bid preparation, procurement, contract administration, and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing detailed and accurate cost bids
- Engage with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and support quotation development
- Support negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors
- Review contracts and assist with order confirmations
- Support project handover to delivery teams
- Manage commercial aspects of live projects, including variations and budget compliance
- Prepare monthly applications for payment
- Contribute to strong client relationships and repeat business
- Undertake other commercial or project-related duties as required
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Commercial Management or a related field
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and develop in a fast-paced commercial environment
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Own car and willingness to attend site meetings occasionally
