For the Highways Inspector role, we require an individual with previous surveying/inspection experience in the field, has a great eye for detail, capable of writing up reports, and following H&S. Candidates with a background in Highways, Streetworks or Utilities sectors will be favoured highly!

What Youll Do

  • Inspect & Assess: Conduct surveys and highway inspections of: cycle routes, and public paths to ensure they meet safety and legislative standards.
  • Solve Problems: Address and resolve issues such as fly-tipping, graffiti, and littering to create cleaner, safer streets.
  • Enforce Standards: Work with local authorities and legislation to maintain the boroughs aesthetic and functional excellence.
  • Drive Change: Review safety protocols and data collection systems to innovate maintenance practices and streamline operations.
  • Collaborate: Build networks with stakeholders and engage with the public to deliver excellent customer service.

The Ideal Highway Inspector

Were searching for someone who is not only experienced in conducting Inspection & Surveys in Construction, but driven to make a difference in urban infrastructure:

Essential Requirements:

  • MUST hold a full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle.
  • Previous experience in Highway/ Utility/ Street work industries carrying out inspections or surveys
  • Experienced in writing up reports on your findings to action changes.
  • Knowledge and experience of following H&S guidelines

Desirable Requirements:
  • Current holder of NRSWA (New Roads Street Works Act)OR SWQR (Street Works Qualification Register) cards.
  • Experience working for Tier 1 Highways construction / maintenance company.
  • An understanding of urban planning, and familiarity with sustainability policies.
