Join our dedicated team as a Speech and Language Therapist, where you will play a crucial role in supporting learners to access and engage with their chosen curriculum. This position is ideal for professionals who are passionate about making a significant impact on the lives of students with diverse needs, by enhancing their communication, social, and behavioural skills across various settings.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conduct comprehensive Speech and Language therapy assessments and deliver person-centred interventions to help learners develop functional skills applicable across their curriculum.
  • Understand and address the impact of communication difficulties on an individual’s function and behaviour.
  • Collaborate with teaching teams to facilitate the transfer of skills developed at the college to the learners’ home and community/work environments.
  • Empower teaching and support staff to deliver the curriculum at an appropriate language and communication level through the creation of support plans, staff training, coaching, and class observations.
  • Work closely with learners' families and carers, as well as with specialist community health and social care teams, to provide holistic support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Proven experience working in special educational settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with young people and adults with complex needs, including Autism and profound and multiple learning disabilities.
