HRGO Recruitment are currently seeking a Junior or Newly Qualified Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer to join our client's dynamic Landlord & Tenant Litigation Department based in Uckfield. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your litigation skills in a fast-paced legal environment, working with a supportive and experienced team.

Our client, Ashley Taylors Legal, provides expert legal services in landlord and tenant law, ranging from straightforward possession proceedings to more complex defended cases. They represent a wide spectrum of clients including private landlords, large managing agents, and insurers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and assist with landlord and tenant litigation cases under supervision.
  • Develop technical skills to handle defended and complex claims, including fast-track and multi-track cases.
  • Draft legal documents and ensure compliance with court directions and orders.
  • Progress towards independent handling of simpler matters while supporting more complex cases.
  • Liaise professionally with clients, courts, defendants, and third parties.
  • Keep clients regularly updated on case progress and outcomes.
  • Issue possession claims via the Possession Claims Online system.
  • Prepare paper-based possession and warrant applications.
  • Draft notices seeking possession and prepare instructions for counsel or advocates.
  • Maintain accurate case records and update case management systems.
Experience and Required Skills:
  • Good understanding of landlord and tenant law (training provided if required).
  • Basic knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and litigation processes.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage tasks independently.
  • Comfortable working in a close-knit team and liaising with clients and third parties.
  • Ability to prioritise, work under pressure, and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Committed to confidentiality and continuous professional development.
Additional Details:
  • Contract: Permanent, full-time
