Join us as a Management Accountant and play a key role in keeping our finance operations accurate, compliant, and running smoothly - supporting reporting, reconciliations, and key month-end processes.

As the UK Management Accountant for Travel Counsellors, you will provide essential support to the UK finance team by performing a range of financial and administrative tasks. This role ensures the smooth operation of day-to-day financial processes, including maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with reporting.

You will be crucial to maintaining the company's financial integrity by ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.



Principal Accountabilities

Accounting & Financial Control:

  • Process company credit card transactions and reconcile monthly statements.
  • Review and update accruals and prepayments.
  • Update Tangible, Intangible and ROU Asset Registers, including posting depreciation/amortisation.
  • Perform period stock count for the UK business.
  • Assist in bank reconciliations, verifying transactions and investigating discrepancies.
  • Review Debtors and Creditors Ledgers at month-end, working with AR/AP to help resolve any queries.
  • Prepare overheads and non-opex analysis each month, accruing/prepaying applicable costs/revenue as necessary.
  • Assist the Finance Manager (UK) with any other balance sheet reconciliations.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing financial documentation and reconciliations (e.g. bank, supplier, and customer accounts).
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts under local GAAP and liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely submission of UK and industry-related regulatory submissions, including IATA, AFI, ATOL, TOMS, and ONS.

Essential Skills

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • AAT Level 2 or higher, or similar accounting qualification (or studying towards one).
  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally in a similar position.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Proficiency in using financial software (e.g. D365) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in processing journals and bank reconciliations.
