The Council are seeking a Strategic Finance Business Partner to oversee the revenue side of the Housing Revenue Account (HRA), prior knowledge and experience of the HRA is therefore essential for the role.
This is a critical time for the Council as we look to finalise budget proposals for 2026/27 and beyond, meaning the successful candidate will need to hit the ground running and work alongside finance and service colleagues alike to update and maintain the HRA 30-year Business Plan in preparation for February Cabinet and Council in 2026.
The role holder will be supported by a Head of Finance and will be required to work closely with the Capital Finance Business Partnering Team, ensuring that revenue implications of acquisitions, developments and works to stock are captured and understood and feed into the HRA’s financial strategy and monitoring positions alongside inputs from budget managers and service leads.
As we move into the last quarter of 2025/26, the successful candidate will also need to start to support the year end close down of the HRA, including the preparation of notes for the statement of accounts.
The successful candidate will be supported by two Assistant Finance Business Partners and will therefore need to have line manager experience and will be expected to support, develop and mentor the team, one of whom is in the final stages of their AAT qualification.
