Housing & Support Assistant

Hours: 40 or 30 hours per week

Shifts: Varying shift patterns between 8:00am and 8:00pm inc weekends

Salary: £24.5k - £25.5k

A well-respected charity based in Uxbridge are currently looking to recruit a Housing and Support Assistant to start with them on a permanent basis, as soon as possible.

Main duties of the role:

  • Being the first point of contact in a homeless hostel with clients who have homelessness, drug/ alcohol, and offender background
  • Carrying out day to day tasks including general administration and covering the reception area
  • Readying void rooms for re-letting including cleaning and removal of rubbish
  • Completing health and safety checks within the hostel
  • Accurately updating records on the system
  • Supporting the running of the hostel and support with support staff on site with general jobs and supporting service users
  • Administrative duties on the reception including answering phones and answering the door, signing people in/out of the hostel and giving out keys
  • Answering queries from service users and engaging with them
  • One to one key working sessions with clients
  • Run activities for clients within the hostel
  • Accompany clients to various appointments

Essential requirements:

  • An Enhanced DBS from within the last three years or willingness to obtain
  • Experience of an interest in working with vulnerable people
  • Experience of working with young people
