A world leader in the design and manufacture of safety equipment for a wide range of military aircrafts are looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.

Key Accountabilities - Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

+ Lead the mechanical design process for new ejection seat systems, from concept development through to production, ensuring designs meet strict safety and performance standards.

+ Utilize advanced CAD software to create detailed 3D models and drawings of mechanical components and assemblies, optimizing for performance, manufacturability, and reliability.

+ Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulation techniques to validate designs and optimize structural integrity, durability, and weight.

+ Work closely with cross-functional teams including aerodynamics, electronics, and manufacturing to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly within the overall ejection seat design.

+ Plan and execute comprehensive testing programs to validate design performance under various operating conditions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

+ Identify opportunities for design optimization and innovation, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

Skills and knowledge required - Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

+ An Engineering Degree Accredited by IMechE / RAeS / IET

+ 2.2 or above and a Mechanical Engineering Degree being desirable

+ An experience in design software including 3D CAD modelling.

+ Knowledge of finite element techniques.
