We are seeking a dedicated Senior Learning Support Assistant to join our team. This role involves coordinating and supervising Learning Support Assistants to ensure effective support across various courses, enhancing the educational experience for students with diverse needs.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Supervise and arrange the appropriate allocation of Learning Support Assistants across courses, ensuring students have identified support.
  • Produce and update timetables for all Learning Support Assistants, including managing lunchtime and taxi rotas.
  • Coordinate the redirection of LSAs to maintain effectiveness and efficiency of resources, such as during class cancellations.
  • Assist the Head of Learning Support and CTL in carrying out the appraisal process for identified LSAs.
  • Ensure that new Learning Support Assistants undertake mandatory training (e.g., Safeguarding, Prevent, and Invigilation training).
  • Provide information to the Head of Learning Support to enable the accurate checking of Learning Support Assistants’ timesheets, including core hours.
  • Advise HR of sickness and other absences of Learning Support Assistants.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience of working as a Learning Support Assistant.
  • Proven experience in leading/supervising a team.
  • Ability to organise Learning Support Assistant resources effectively and organise staff timetables.
  • Proactive in anticipating and responding to students’ needs, with the ability to adapt to frequently changing priorities.
  • Experience in supporting individuals with learning difficulties, disabilities, and/or challenging behaviour effectively.
