 The RoleAs Product Technologist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and legal compliance of our client’s diverse range of products. You will be the ‘shield’ that protects the business from non-compliance by driving process checks, managing risks, undertaking testing, and ensuring all specification and labelling meet UK and global standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee product specifications and compliance documentation.
  • Produce and review product risk assessments and provide evidence of compliance.
  • Oversee product testing and ensure products pass all legal and customer required testing.
  • Provide correct labelling of products including compliant nutritional data, product descriptions, and mandatory warnings.
  • Logging, management and evaluation of all product related data and reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation (toy, hardware, electronics, packaging, and food safety)
 The CandidateThis highly process-driven role would suit candidates with a strong background in toy safety, packaging, hardware, or craft-related consumer goods. You’ll possess strong knowledge of global regulations and have solid understanding of toys and food labelling and packaging compliance. Key Skills and Experience:
  • Prior experience in a product compliance & technologist role, preferably within the toy safety, packaging, or craft-gifting industry.
  • A background in FMCG or consumer goods with strong regulatory and compliance focus.
  • High levels of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and understanding on global regulations including food and toy safety standards.
  • Excellent written communication and documentation abilities.
  • Process-driven mindset with the ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Good working knowledge of labelling requirements.
  • Familiarity with HACCP and BRC standards.
