Aston Education is looking for an Additional Learning Support (ALS) Co-ordinator to join this Sixth Form College near Victoria station in Central London. Their Ofsted is Good with Outstanding features.

The college has recently grown, welcoming a more diverse intake, including more young people aged 16-19 with additional learning, social, emotional, and mental health needs.

They are looking for an ALS Co-ordinator to work closely with the SENDCO and the leadership team providing strategic leadership and operational management to the ALS team, ensuring the effective implementation of SEND support across the Sixth Form and Apprenticeship programmes.

You'll work closely with learners, parents and carers and external agencies to ensure the college provides a high quality of education to their learners with additional needs.
Â
You will be responsible for ensuring that exam access arrangements are organised to meet the needs of learners and that annual reviews are completed for learners with EHCPs and ALS with the Apprenticeship team.

Qualifications & Experience required include:
- Proven experience in a leadership or co-ordination role within a SEND or ALS context in a secondary school or further education college
- Educated to Level 3 standard
- In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices
- Strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing learners with additional needs in a further education setting
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a small team
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification is desirable
