We're looking for someone who is keen to build a career in Manufacturing or Engineering Administration.

We have an opportunity to join the Manufacturing team at a large Manufacturer near St Austell to support the Bindery and Manufacturing Managers with all Department administration duties.

We’d like you to be an experienced Administrator with a background in similar manufacturing environments, with good interpersonal skills, attention to detail and good Microsoft skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting Reception duties – telephone calls, postal, small deliveries. Issuing payslips and written communication to all departments.
  • Administrating the crewing each production area in line with production requirements – liaising with managers, employees and agencies.
  • Creating and updating weekly manning sheets for all departments. Ensuring cover for all holidays and sickness absences.
  • Manage the time management system. Ensuring all worked hours, sickness and holidays are recorded and processed correctly. Updating the annualised hours running total each week. Processing all holiday requests for all production departments.
  • Preparation of paperwork for department managers – Return to work documents, training record cards, recording time stamps.
  • Creating Purchase Orders for workwear, PPE, First Aid supplies and stationery.
  • Assisting with booking training courses, occupational health reviews, accommodation, and travel.

Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to work in a highly confidential role.
  • Previous experience in an administrative role in a similar environment.
  • High standard of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office functions, specifically Excel & Word.
  • Ability to learn & understand how to use other IT platforms.
  • Good work organisation skills, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as in a team.
  • Ability to understand routine instruction.
