The CompanyNigel Wright are delighted to be working exclusively with an established utilities company in their search for a Supplier Relationship Manager.The Supplier Relationship Manager will work on site in their offices in the West Yorkshire area 4 days per week with 1 day per week remote working.The OpportunityThe Supplier Relationship Manager role forms part of the broader Supply Chain Team and plays a key part in managing the supplier base, ensuring that supplier capacity and capabilities are sufficient to meet the requirements of the company's long term investment and growth strategy.  A key aspect of the Supplier Relationship Manager's remit will be to build and ensure resilience within their supply chain, key responsibilities to include:
  • Supplier development and engagement to ensure that the supply base has sufficient capacity and capabilities, and to build resilience against supply chain risk
  • Identifying supply risks and implementing mitigation plans
  • Supplier relationship management and performance management/monitoring v KPIs with a focus upon sustainability and responsible procurement
  • Collaborating with Tendering Teams to assist in developing longer term tender strategy for high value contracts
  • Supplier onboarding – acting as a single point of contact and SME for the wider Procurement and Supply Chain team with regards best practice, ensuring that suppliers are onboarded effectively and compliantly, according to established process
About YouThe successful Supplier Relationship Manager will have/be:
  • Proven track record within a supplier development/risk management/relationship management remit 
  • Regulated sector experience i.e. Utilities/Public sector preferred but not essential
  • Knowledge of Procurement best practice essential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - strong influencing and stakeholder/supplier engagement skills - able to build relationships with multifunctional stakeholders (internal/external)
  • Confident in presenting to SLT/Director level
  • Autonomous, positive, commercially astute
  • Analytical and systems-savvy 
  • MCIPS preferred or working towards
