Room Leader - Nursery in Wakefield City Centre£13.75 per hour

About UsWe are a small, friendly nursery located in the heart of Wakefield City Centre, providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children from birth to 5 years. Our nursery is divided into three main rooms: Baby, Toddler, and Preschool. Our Toddlers and Preschool children share one spacious room, separated by a partition, but often mix to encourage transitions and social development.

The RoleWe are looking for an enthusiastic, caring Room Leader to join our team! As a Room Leader, you will be responsible for leading a room (either Baby, Toddler, or Preschool), ensuring high standards of care and education, and supporting a small, dedicated team of Early Years practitioners. You will provide a safe and inclusive environment, plan stimulating activities, and contribute to the overall development of the children in your care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, inspire and motivate a small team of practitioners

  • Plan and implement engaging activities based on the EYFS framework

  • Ensure the safety, well-being, and development of children at all times

  • Support children's transitions between rooms

  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers

What We're Looking For:

  • A Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent)

  • Experience in an Early Years setting, preferably in a leadership role

  • Passion for working with children and promoting their development

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
