Hydraulic Engineer 35k - 45k DOE
The role of the hydraulic engineer covers a diverse range of tasks within the business. Core elements of the role are to assemble, test, service and repair hydraulic equipment both at our workshop in Wakefield and on-site. The engineering and technical skills required will enable the engineers to proactively work with our on-site design and sales team.
Duties:
- Reading and understanding hydraulic schematics and drawings
- Assist in building and testing HPUs to client specifications
- Assist in testing hydraulic equipment on our test rig
- Assist in pipefitting both on and off site
- Assist in hose manufacture, flushing and testing
- Assist in stripping and assessing hydraulic components that arrive for repair
- Assist in installation of hydraulic equipment on site
- A knowledge of fabrication and welding (MIG and TIG) would be an advantage but not essential
- A knowledge of electrical control systems and PLCs would be an advantage but not essential
- Attending various sites to service customers hydraulic equipment
Technical knowledge:
Experience of assembly and part drawings for fabrications, to facilitate assembly work
Understanding of the fundamentals of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, cylinders and their applications
Able to interpret hydraulic schematic drawings
Served an apprenticeship in an engineering competence
Previous hydraulics experience
Hours of work:
Monday to Friday, days a 39 hour week with OT rates
