We are seeking an experienced and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in the Wakefield area. This is a full-time opportunity in a supportive and purposeful setting where your experience with SEND and your clear communication skills will be vital.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 or small group support for students with complex additional needs including ASD, ADHD, and PMLD

Support the implementation of EHCP targets through tailored classroom and activity-based interventions

Assist with personal care and mobility, including moving and handling (training is highly desirable)

Help manage and de-escalate behaviours using a proactive and positive approach

Foster strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff and parents

Contribute to a calm, respectful and structured learning environment that prioritises emotional regulation and pupil wellbeing
What We're Looking For:

Proven experience in specialist SEND settings is essential

Confident communicator with staff, pupils and external professionals

Moving and handling training is highly desirable

Team-player who is resilient, proactive and patient

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

Ability to remain calm and adapt quickly in a dynamic school environment
