Maintenance Electrician (Days) – Industrial Manufacturing

Location: Wakefield
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, Days

Our client are a leading industrial manufacturer supplying high-quality products to a wide range of markets. With continued investment in people, plant and processes we are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join the engineering team on a days-based shift pattern.

Maintenance Electrician - The Role

As a Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient running of electrical systems across our site. You’ll carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, and repair on a wide range of production machinery and supporting equipment. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, where minimising downtime and maintaining high standards of safety are key.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and equipment.

  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on production machinery, plant and services.

  • Responding quickly to breakdowns to reduce downtime.

  • Supporting continuous improvement projects and equipment upgrades.

  • Working closely with other engineers and production teams to ensure targets are met.

  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and adhering to site safety procedures.

Maintenance Electrician - About You

We are looking for a time-served, multi-skilled Maintenance Electrician with experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. You should be proactive, reliable, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Essential skills & experience:

  • Recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, 18th Edition).

  • Proven background in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

  • Experience with PLCs, motors, drives, and control systems (advantageous but not essential).

  • Good understanding of health & safety and safe systems of work.
