An award-winning, employee-owned planning and design consultancy is looking for a Senior Associate Masterplanner to lead and shape the future of major development projects across the UK. This practice is known for its collaborative, purpose-driven culture and innovative approach to placemaking.

You'll be joining a multidisciplinary team of planners, architects, and masterplanners working on some of the most ambitious and transformative urban extensions, new towns, and regeneration schemes in the country.



The Role

As a Senior Associate Masterplanner, you will:

  • Take a leading role in the design and delivery of large-scale masterplans and strategic projects

  • Drive the narrative and conceptual framework of each project through compelling text, visuals, and planning documentation

  • Prepare high-quality outputs including vision documents, design and access statements, feasibility studies, and design codes

  • Work closely with planning colleagues to ensure all designs align with policy and guidance

  • Engage directly with clients, stakeholders, and design teams through site visits, meetings, and presentations

  • Contribute to the broader profile of the practice through marketing content, presentations, and thought leadership



About You

The successful candidate will bring:

  • 8-10+ years of masterplanning experience in a consultancy or similar setting

  • A strong design background with the ability to think at both macro and micro scales

  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects from concept to submission

  • Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to craft a compelling project narrative

  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for sustainable, community-centred design

  • High proficiency in industry-standard tools and techniques for urban design and masterplanning
