About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in WF4. This role is ideal for someone with a genuine passion for helping children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs thrive in their learning environment.

You will work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to deliver tailored support, both in and out of the classroom. The role involves working 1:1 and in small groups, implementing behaviour strategies, and promoting emotional resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs across KS1 and KS2

  • Deliver targeted interventions and assist with personalised learning plans

  • Help manage behaviour and support de-escalation techniques

  • Collaborate with staff to ensure inclusive and nurturing classroom environments

  • Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH or similar needs

  • Team Teach or equivalent behaviour management training (desirable)

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Calm, patient, and empathetic approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
