A leading organisation in the UK food processing sector, known for producing high-quality meat products for a variety of clients including retailers and food service companies, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Specialist to join its dynamic team. The company is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance in its product offerings.
Primary Purpose of the Role:
To manage and oversee product specifications and ensure compliance with organisational, client, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the completion and revision of product specifications across relevant platforms.
- Collaborate with client representatives to ensure high standards of product specifications.
- Coordinate the launch of new products, ensuring adherence to timelines and artwork requirements.
- Work with internal teams and suppliers to facilitate timely reviews of specifications.
- Address customer inquiries and technical requests to meet deadlines effectively.
- Assist product development teams in interpreting food regulations and client requirements.
- Update internal tracking systems and communicate effectively with relevant teams.
- Review packaging and product artwork for compliance with legal labelling regulations.
- Prepare and manage documentation for product launches, including internal labels.
- Conduct internal audits to support the Quality Management System.
- Maintain positive relationships across departments to enhance information exchange.
- Promote a culture of food safety and adhere to health and safety policies.
Key Competencies:
- Relevant certifications preferred, such as Food Safety Level 3, HACCP Level 3, and Internal Auditing.
- Experience in a highly regulated food processing environment is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of client standards and industry requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
- Knowledgeable in current labelling legislation and product compliance.
- Strong focus on customer service, both internal and external.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities.
- Proficient in relevant IT systems and applications.
