Civil Engineer - Roads & Drainage |Wakefield | Flexible Working | Career Growth

Are you a Civil Engineer with a passion for designing roads and drainage systems for development projects? We're looking for someone just like you to join our client's dynamic team in Wakefield.

This is your chance to work on a variety of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments across the UK - helping shape the infrastructure of tomorrow with sustainable, high-quality design solutions.

What you'll be doing:
路Designing highways, junctions, and drainage infrastructure using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage

路Preparing detailed drawings, specifications, and calculations for planning and technical approvals

路Working closely with architects, planners, and structural engineers to deliver fully integrated design solutions

路Supporting planning submissions and technical approvals (Sections 38, 278, and 104)

路Contributing to flood risk assessments (FRAs) and sustainable drainage (SuDS) strategies

路Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders, and clients

路Guiding and mentoring junior engineers within the team

What we're looking for:
路A degree (BEng, BSc or MSc) in Civil Engineering
路Strong track record in the design of roads and drainage for UK development projects
路Working knowledge of DMRB, Manual for Streets, Sewers for Adoption, and local authority standards
路Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage (or InfoDrainage)
路Great communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
