We are a forward-thinking law firm based in Wakefield with a growing reputation in serious and catastrophic injury litigation. As part of our ongoing growth, we are seeking a motivated Paralegal with experience in RTA, litigation or general personal injury, who is eager to transition into the complex and rewarding field of serious injury law.

Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a paralegal looking to build a long-term career in serious injury work. You'll support senior lawyers handling high-value, multi-track cases involving brain, spinal, amputation, and complex orthopaedic injuries. Full training and supervision will be provided, with a clear development path and exposure to cutting-edge work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist senior fee earners with the management of serious injury files from initial instruction through to settlement or trial
  • Draft legal documents, correspondence, witness statements, and instructions to experts and counsel
  • Liaise with clients, medical professionals, insurers, counsel, and rehabilitation providers
  • Review and analyse medical records and evidence
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records using our case management system
  • Support with rehabilitation planning and interim payment applications
  • Attend client meetings, conferences, and hearings (as required)
  • Undertake legal research and support case preparation at all stages of litigation
Requirements

Essential:

  • Previous experience in personal injury, RTA, or litigation (minimum 6 months)
  • Good understanding of the personal injury claims process and Civil Procedure Rules
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive and organised, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Confident IT user with experience using case management systems

Desirable:

  • Experience assisting on multi-track or complex PI claims
  • Law degree and/or completion of the LPC/SQE (or working towards)
  • Desire to build a long-term career in serious injury law
  • Empathy and professionalism when working with vulnerable clients
