We are seeking a proactive and skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our clients engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a range of press machines and associated mechanical equipment within our manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a focus on ensuring equipment uptime and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute scheduled PPM tasks in line with the site’s maintenance strategy and OEM guidelines.
  • Maintain and repair mechanical components such as hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gears, couplings, and conveyors.
  • Collaborate with production and planning teams to coordinate maintenance without disrupting operations.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and faults on press machines and related mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose root causes of mechanical failures
  • Minimise machine downtime and ensure a fast return to production while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Provide support during equipment failure investigations and implement lessons learned.
  • Assist in the refurbishment and overhaul of press machines during scheduled downtime.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new or modified equipment.
