Futures are looking to appoint a Mechanical Engineering Lead who will be responsible for guiding, supporting, and developing the mechanical engineering function across multiple projects and business initiatives. This role ensures that all mechanical design activities are delivered to a high standard, fully compliant with relevant regulations, and aligned with organisational objectives. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the mechanical engineering team, managing day-to-day workloads and ensuring efficient allocation of resources across projects.
  • Oversee the development of compliant mechanical designs, ensuring correct component selection, adherence to engineering standards, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Provide expert technical direction, troubleshooting, and mentoring to engineers and project teams.
  • Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, design records, and engineering reports.
  • Drive R&D initiatives to enhance product performance, manufacturing efficiency, and overall engineering capability.
  • Identify and implement process improvements within the mechanical engineering function, promoting best practices and innovation.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies that could improve design quality or operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams—including electrical, software, production, and quality—to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
  • Provide ongoing engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, from concept development to production handover.
  • Deliver training, guidance, and technical support to engineers and project team members.

Skills and Qualifications:
