Mechanically Biased Maintenance Fitter / Engineer – WakefieldElevation Recruitment Group is recruiting a Mechanically Biased Maintenance Fitter / Engineer for a manufacturing business in Wakefield. This role is for someone with strong mechanical skills who can take ownership of machinery maintenance and repairs.

The RoleAs a Mechanically Biased Maintenance Fitter / Engineer you will:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on machinery

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults

  • Respond to breakdowns and reduce downtime

  • Keep accurate maintenance and performance records

  • Work with production teams to improve equipment reliability

  • Support continuous improvement in maintenance practices

The PersonThe ideal Maintenance Fitter / Engineer will have:

  • NVQ Level 2 or above in maintenance or engineering

  • Proven experience in a Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Fitter Engineer role

  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge

  • Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment

  • Reliable, proactive, and a good team player

  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts including Sundays
