The salary for this position ranges from £40,000 to £45,000, with Monday to Friday day shifts.
Candidates should have proven experience in a mechanical maintenance role, ideally with 3+ years in manufacturing or industrial environments.
Key responsibilities include performing planned preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical faults, and ensuring safety standards are met.

Elevation Recruitment Group are working in partnership with one of the UK’s largest and most forward-thinking recycling businesses to recruit a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer based in Wakefield.

£40,000 - £45,000

Monday to Friday day shiftsBenefits:

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on mechanical equipment
Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime
Work on a wide range of equipment including conveyors, shredders, pumps, and compactors
Ensure safe working practices in line with company and legal standards
Maintain accurate service and repair records
Contribute to ongoing improvement and reliability projects within the plant

Candidate Requirements

Proven experience in a mechanical maintenance role, ideally within manufacturing, recycling, or industrial environments
Strong working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gearboxes, and mechanical systems
Time-served apprenticeship or relevant mechanical engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC)
Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, heavy-industrial setting
Team player with excellent communication skills
