Elevation Recruitment Group are working in partnership with one of the UK’s largest and most forward-thinking recycling businesses to recruit a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer based in Wakefield.

£40,000 - £45,000

Monday to Friday day shiftsBenefits:

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on mechanical equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime
  • Work on a wide range of equipment including conveyors, shredders, pumps, and compactors
  • Ensure safe working practices in line with company and legal standards
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement and reliability projects within the plant
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven experience in a mechanical maintenance role, ideally within manufacturing, recycling, or industrial environments
  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gearboxes, and mechanical systems
  • Time-served apprenticeship or relevant mechanical engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC)
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, heavy-industrial setting
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
