Our client is a well known business in the West Yorkshire region who supply power distribution to a varied client based nationally. We are looking for an Electrical Fitter to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment related to power distribution networks, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, test, commission, and maintain low and high-voltage power distribution systems (up to [specify voltage, e.g., 33kV or 132kV]).
  • Conduct fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on electrical distribution equipment, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and cables.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspection of substations and associated infrastructure.
  • Terminate and joint HV and LV cables (if certified).
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Adhere to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards at all times.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all work carried out including job sheets, maintenance records, and test certificates.
  • Participate in standby or emergency call-out duties if required.
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other trades on installation and maintenance tasks.
  • Support commissioning activities and ensure systems operate as intended before handover.

Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Recognized electrical trade qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent).
  • ECS/CSCS Card (if working on construction sites).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) certification.
  • HV/LV Authorisation or Certification (desirable).
