Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Office Location: Calder Park, Wakefield

Salary: Competitive Salary (based on experience/qualification) plus car allowance/company car and bonus scheme following completion of a 3 month probationary period

Hours: 7:30-4:30 Monday-Thursday and 7:30-3pm Friday

Benefits: Company pension, Fuel Card and healthcare plan after 3 months. 25 days holiday entitlement plus bank holidays.

Responsibilities

Carry out Estimating and Quantity surveying role including:

  • Measurements, take offs, procurement of materials and subcontractors to complete tender submission using first principles where required
  • Completing valuations and reporting to the Commercial Manager and Director
  • Assisting with review of main contracts
  • Undertaking scheme budgets including material, labour and subcontractors
  • Procurement of trade packages where required
  • Prepare tender and subcontractor documents, including bills of quantities
  • Certifying subcontractors including labour only subcontractor payments and wages
  • Producing subcontractor instruction/variation reports
  • Assisting the Project team with financial implications of site progress decisions
  • Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors and, where appropriate, negotiate with the contractors
  • Monitor budgets and produce forecasts for current projects
  • Ordering and monitoring material purchases and call offs
