We're looking for a customer-focused Lettings Advisor to join our team in Wakefield. In this role, you'll provide tailored advice on housing options, process applications, advertise and process our properties. You'll deliver excellent customer service, respond to lettings enquiries, and offer informed guidance based on our lettings policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be confident handling a wide range of queries, proactive in managing their workload, and committed to ensuring customers' needs are always the top priority.
Please note that this is a temporary position lasting until December, 2025, and you will be working 28.25 hours per week.

Requirements
Outline of key responsibilities for the Lettings Advisor...
- To be the first point of contact for any customer requesting advice and assistance in relation to rehousing requirements or housing options.
- To deal with enquiries regarding properties available, basic housing options, application registration, administration of waiting lists/choiced based lettings cycles, processing applications, preparation of property shortlists, and schedule appointments for viewings.
- (To engage with vulnerable customers at application/interview stage to identify and discuss any support needs and housing options including supported housing to ensure suitability of offers, signposting to relevant partners where appropriate).
- To carry out telephone interviews with customers in connection with the lettings service.
- To carry out affordability and other checks, including capability to ensure that any potential new tenant has the ability to sustain the tenancy and provide advice about social care and support services should the customer required additional help to live independently including adaptations
- To work closely with Neighbourhood and Supported Housing Teams to ensure that the right customers are matched with the right properties.
- To update rehousing applications in accordance with procedures as required.
- Ensure all properties on which we receive a notice are advertised on our systems without delay and that adverts are completed fully, including quality photographs and relevant information.
- To be responsible for the verification of information provided at interview, obtaining required proof, carrying out reference checks and background checks to encourage sustainable tenancies.
- Make relevant referrals of potential homeless customers to the relevant Local Authority Homelessness service.
We are looking for someone who has...
- Proven experience of customer service focused work in either a face-to-face or telephone environment.
- Demonstrate a commitment to delivering excellent customer service to a diverse range of customers.
- To manage confidential/personal information appropriately and sensitively
- To present information in an accurate, clear and considered manner (e.g. via written and oral communication)
- To have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook
